The MYGEMS Science Center Gives Back!

As the founder and director of MYGEMS, I strongly believe in our children's educational future. We promote scholastic achievement, scientific awareness and literacy for children of all ages and inspire them to pursue a science career upon graduating from high school.

On May 23rd the MYGEMS Science Center awarded a $500 scholarship to Ms. Paris A. Pratt of Greensboro, North Carolina. She was awarded this scholarship based upon several criteria. A 2008 graduate of James B. Dudley Senior High School with a 3.9 GPA and in the top 10% of her class, Paris has been accepted to North Carolina A&T State University to pursue dual bachelors of science degrees in chemistry and chemistry education with a minor in chemical engineering. Congratulations to Ms. Paris A. Pratt!

MYGEMS Science Reading Program

Parents, do you have a child that loves to read? If so, then sign them up for the MYGEMS Science Reading Program. We will have monthly meetings for children ages 8-11 to participate in our Science Reading Program. We will complete science activities based upon the book of the month. There will also be prizes awarded to the children that read the most books. Call 704.788.3222 for more information about our reading program.

MYGEMS Homeschool Program - Spring 2009

We will begin our Spring Enrollment for the homeschool science program in December. If you are interested in our programs for homeschool families, check back in December for times and dates. Check your calendars now and start planning for our Homeschool Science Programs because our schedules fill up quickly! Don't delay, enroll today with MYGEMS! Our enrollment is limited to only 12 children per class.

MYGEMS Field Trips and Youth Outreach Programs

Invite “TK the Chemist” to your next youth event so they can enjoy what thousands of other children have. “TK the Chemist” has shared hands-on science experiments with over 5,000 children and adults for more than 10 years. This former high school chemistry teacher, now college instructor and owner of MYGEMS bring motivation, enthusiasm, and interesting facts about science to the audience.
