The Spring Homeschool Science Program will begin Wednesday, January 28, 2009 and end on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. This program will last for 12 weeks. For a list of weekly course descriptions and student requirements, you will receive this information upon completion of the application process. We do not distribute this information to parents until enrollment is finalized. However, we will provide you with a sample list of the first month of the program. (SEE BELOW)

Week 1: January 28^th Welcome and Introduction to What is Science

Week 2: February 4^th  Germs, Bacteria, Viruses: The Good and the bad!

Week 3: February 11^th  The Human Body: What are organs and cells?

Week 4: February 18^th  Name that bone! 

Our programs are every Wednesday according to the following schedule, which will be based upon your child’s grade level.

Elementary Science Program Ages: 7-9

Dates: January 28, 2009 – April 15, 2009 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm.

 Cost: $120 for the first child

Payment Option I: Pay in full by February 4, 2009

Payment Option II: Pay 50% of the class fees and then pay the total remaining balance on 2 scheduled payments in the amount of $30 per month, due no later than the 5^th of each month.

If you have additional children that you would like to participate in the program, then the cost is $96.

Payment Option I: Pay in full by February 4, 2009

Payment Option II: Pay 50% of the class fees and then pay the total remaining balance on 2 scheduled payments in the amount of $24 per month, due no later than the 5^th of each month.

Elementary Science Program  Ages: 9-11

Dates: January 28, 2009 – April 15, 2009 1:30 pm – 2:45 pm.

 Cost: $120 Siblings: $96

Payment and Cancellation Policy:  

• Cancellations from our Spring Program must be done no later than February 4, 2009. You will be given a 75% refund. Please cancel registration as soon as you discover your child cannot participate in the Spring Semester Science Program by either sending an e-mail notice to tkthechemist@mygemsforkids.com or by mail to: The MYGEMS Science Center at P.O. Box 5920, Concord, NC 28027.  We will notify you that your registration has been cancelled in writing. If we do not receive confirmation from you by these methods, then your child is considered a registered participant in our class.
  
• Please note that no refund will be given for failure to attend a class or unfulfilled contracts. If a class is missed, then you have the option of making up that class at a time that is convenient according to the MYGEMS Science Center Hours of Operation.
• Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment is limited to 12 students per class.
• Siblings will not be allowed to participate unless their fees have been paid for each class.

Please note: If minimum class enrollments are not reached, The MYGEMS Science Center reserves the right to cancel or reschedule programs. If this occurs, you will be notified .

 We provide various themes each week on various concepts that will give each child a sample of the various concepts in science.  We expect each child  to keep a folder or notebook with all of their assignments.  We provide weekly handouts and homework assignments.  Our classes are designed to provide supplementary science education to your current educational program.
