Birthday Parties

For Boys and Girls ages 7 and up, invite T.K. the Chemist to your birthday party and be the talk of the school. There are many exciting themes to select from. Come to the MYGEMS Science Center, sit back and relax as we help celebrate your child's momentous day! Why stress over keeping your home clean when you can come to the MYGEMS Science Center and have fun.

You Provide: Table decorations, *party favors, food, drink, birthday cake, paper goods and utensils.

MYGEMS Reservations:
Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance and depend on availability. A 50% deposit is due at time of registration. There are no refunds for guest number changes. In the event that you must cancel, a $25 non-refundable deposit will be held from the balance given. Reservations may be made over the phone, call (704) 788-3222 and payments mailed payable to: MYGEMS, P.O. BOX 5920, Concord, NC 28027 with cash, checks, money order or credit cards. There is a $30 Returned Check fee or declined credit card. Due to the interactive nature of workshops, we must limit the number of participants.

Please be mindful that while we enjoy having you and your family visit with us at the MYGEMS Science Center, a party clean up fee of $50 will be billed to the parents if the science center is left in deplorable conditions.

Birthday parties are held at the MYGEMS Science Center. Call for schedule.

• Your child and 6-15 children will get T.K. the Chemist for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The fees for birthday parties are $175 for up to 15 children. Additional children are $10 each.
• *Party favors may be purchased for an additional fee of $3.00 per child.              1 ADULT per 10 children is required.
• If you would like hot dogs/pizza and drinks at your birthday party, add an additional fee of $4.00 per child and guest. Each paid person will receive 2 slices of pizza or hot dog and chips and a drink (juice or bottled water).
• We can also order a cake or cupcakes with the MYGEMS Science Center's logo and the birthday child's name written on the cake.  We need at least a one week's notice. The cost is $25.

The birthday child will receive a personalized t-shirt and party favor bag based on the birthday theme, which is already included in the fee.

T.K. the Chemist Birthday Club This program is for kids ages 7-12.  You will receive monthly experiments that are not posted online to your home.  Special discounts are given for all programs. On your birthday, you will receive a special gift from "T.K. the Chemist." Prices start at $30.00 per year.

**Assemblies: In order to maximize the educational value of your MYGEMS Science Show, we strongly recommend that school audiences include three or fewer grade levels per show. The maximum audience size is 150.

• We will provide a Q&A session along with a pre-visit package to include background information on the science concepts and experiments performed. These sessions will last 30 minutes.

• A minimum of 4 groups is required to schedule a school for the Learning Stations. Each group will get 35 minutes to use the Learning Stations.

Travel Fees:

Locations outside of Concord will incur a mileage fee that will be added to your total program fees.

  Tutoring

This year the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction will implement gateway End-of-Grade tests in science for elementary school aged children.  To help ensure that your child will do well on the science comprehensive tests, contact the MYGEMS Science Center and we will help you.

Tutoring Specials

End-of-Grade and End-of-Course Test Preparations for elementary and middle school math and science subjects and High School and AP Chemistry. 

The prices vary and depend on the number of days your child attends the study sessions.  Rates start at $45 for a 1 hour session.
